Michael never planned on getting into the insurance industry; despite his mother’s position as a nationally recognized expert in disability income protection and his late grandfather’s long career as a general agent for Cal-Farm Insurance Company.
Moving to Seattle in 2001, he began working part-time at the Seattle Agency of The Guardian Life Insurance Company while attending college. In less than 12 months the General Agent offered him a full-time position at the firm running the day-to-day finances, commissions, and the back-office operations for the agency.
Four years, two promotions, and a major office move later, Michael was asked to leave Guardian with the General Agent to open a new branch office in Seattle for Ash Brokerage. During his nearly 8 years with Ash he coordinated and emceed two large advanced planning conferences in 2009 and 2011; each attended by 75-100 advisors from around the Northwest. Having left Ash in July 2012, Michael founded his own firm, The Staeb Company, LLC. Since then his company has grown into Staeb Brokerage, a brokerage general agent and Staeb Consulting, helping advisors with training and growing their practices in new areas.
